Monday weather forecast: hot weather, followed by thundershowers

WEB DESK: Hot and humid weather will persist across most regions of the country on Monday, predicted Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). However, strong winds and thundershowers are also expected in areas including Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, upper Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan, especially during later part of the day. Heavy rain is anticipated in some locations during this period, PDM said.
Going region by region, in Islamabad and surrounding areas, partly cloudy conditions are expected, with strong winds and thundershowers.
In Punjab, hot and humid weather will continue across most districts, but strong winds and thundershowers are likely in parts of Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Talagang, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Jhang, and surrounding areas. Heavy rain is also likely in some of these locations. Wind surges are possible in Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, D.G. Khan, and nearby areas.
Likewise, In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, hot and humid conditions are likely to continue. However, rain, accompanied by strong winds and thundershowers, is expected at some locations including Dir, Swat, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Bajaur, Kurram, Khyber, and surrounding areas.
Sindh will experience hot and humid conditions, with extreme heat likely in the upper and central districts during the day.
Balochistan will also see hot and dry conditions across most districts, with extreme heat expected in the southern and eastern areas. Strong dusty winds are also forecasted for later in the day.
In Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir partly cloudy weather is anticipated, with strong winds and thundershowers likely in Kashmir.
