More intermittent rains expected today: Met Office

ISLAMABAD: Intermittent rains, wind, and thundershowers are expected in various parts of the country, including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Kashmir during the next 12 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The Met Office has predicted rain in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum. Scattered heavy to very heavy falls are also likely during the forecast period.
Light to moderate rain is expected at a few places in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Central and southern Punjab, as well as northeastern and southern Balochistan, may also receive isolated rain and thundershowers.
In Punjab, rainfall is likely in Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Thunderstorms are expected at isolated spots in Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, and surrounding areas.
In Sindh, rain is likely in Karachi, Ghotki, Sukkur, Sanghar, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Badin, Larkana, and Sujawal.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Kurram, Charsadda, and Nowshera are also expected to receive rainfall.
The Met Office has advised residents in vulnerable areas to stay alert for possible urban flooding and landslides in hilly regions.
