Motorways closed amid severe weather conditions

ISLAMABAD: The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) announced closure of motorways across Pakistan due to prevailing extreme weather conditions.

According to the motorway police, M2 motorway is closed for all traffic from Thokar Niaz Baig to Farooqabad. Meanwhile, the motorway is also closed for heavy traffic from Farooqabad to Kot Momin.

Similarly, the M3 motorway is completely closed from Faizpur to Samundri, whereas the M3 is closed for some traffic from Faizpur to Jaranwala.

As per the NH&MP, the M4 motorway is shut down for commuters from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad, and for heavy traffic from Abdul Hakeem to Pindi Bhattian.

The motorway police urged commuters to avoid unnecessary travel.

Motorists are also strongly advised to seek alternate routes and plan their journeys accordingly until normal weather conditions allow for normal traffic flow to be is restored.
