WEB DESK: In continuation of the persistent foggy weather conditions, various regions of the country are grappling with reduced visibility, leading to the closure of several motorways.
The low visibility threshold has prompted authorities to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of commuters.
According to a statement from the Motorway Police spokesperson, Motorway M2 has been shut down from Kot Momin to Ravi Toll Plaza, while traffic on Motorway M3 has been diverted at Rajana.
Additionally, motorway M3 sections from Faizpur to Jaranwala and M4 sections from Multan to Pindi Bhattian are experiencing complete closures, causing significant disruptions to the normal flow of traffic.
Commuters are also facing challenges on Highway M5, which is closed from Multan to Uch Sharif. Furthermore, heavy traffic from Zahir Peer to Uch Sharif is being impeded due to the adverse weather conditions. The spokesman revealed that M4, from Sher Shah to Abdul Hakeem, and M5, from Sher Shah to Uch Sharif, are also closed for all traffic owing to the prevailing fog.
In light of these challenges, the Motorway Police spokesperson has strongly advised citizens to refrain from unnecessary travel during foggy hours.
Additionally, motorists are urged to use fog lights while driving in such conditions to mitigate the risk of accidents.
As the fog persists, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates to ensure the safety and well-being of the public.
