Motorways M-1, M-4 and M-5 closed due to fog


Several motorways—M-2, M-3, M-4 and M-11—were shut down due to dense fog, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) announced on Thursday.

ISLAMABAD: The M-1, M-4 and M-5 motorways were closed due to dense fog, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) police announced.

Motorway M-5

In motorway M-5, the stretch from Shershah Multan to Khairpur Interchange is currently close. The section has been affected by low visibility, making it unsafe for commuters.

Similarly, another segment of the M-5, Rohri to Rahim Yar Khan was also closed. The fog in the area created extremely low visibility, forcing the authorities to take precautionary measures.

Motorway M-4

Meanwhile, on M-4. The route from Shershah Multan to Shorkot was closed, with travellers advised to seek alternative routes until visibility improved.

Motorway M-1

On M-1, the section from Burhan to Peshawar toll plaza was shut down due to similar fog-related issues. The closure is aimed to ensure the safety of motorists navigating through the impacted region.

Travel Advisory

The National Highways and Motorway Police stated they were monitoring the situation “closely” and will provide updates as the weather changed.
