MPA Fazal Elahi storms PESCO grid station

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Fazal Elahi along with a group of protesters have taken control of a PESCO grid station as a protest against power outages in Peshawar.

The government MPA along with the demonstrators, forcefully entered the Rehman Baba grid station and compelled the activation of feeders, according to PESCO spokesperson.

The protesters forcibly turned on nine feeders, which are categorized as high-loss feeders, according to the spokesperson.

These feeders have losses exceeding 80 per cent due to electricity theft and non-payment of dues, the spokesperson said.

Meanwhile Fazal Elahi declaring his step as a revolution said, “Since 9 AM, all the buttons of the PESCO grid station are under our control. We have turned on all the feeders. Today, a revolution has arrived,”

He said all the feeders that are running will continue to run.

This incident highlights the ongoing issues of electricity theft and high losses in certain areas, leading to significant challenges for PESCO in managing the power supply and ensuring financial stability.
