MQM-P proposes Sindh governor Tessori for caretaker PM


ISLAMABAD: A four-member delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discussed issues of mutual interest.

MQM delegation led by its convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, included Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Federal Minister for Information Technology Amin-ul-Haque and Dr. Farooq Sattar.

According to sources, MQM-P proposed name of Sindh governor Kamran Tessori for the slot of caretaker Prime Minister.

During the meeting, MQM-P leadership thanked PM for addressing their reservations regarding 2023 digital census.

Expressing satisfaction over unanimous approval of seventh digital census by the Council of Common Interests (CCI), Shehbaz said this was only possible due to positive role played by all the political parties.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the PM, Shehbaz Sharif assured the delegetion to resolve the issue of inflated tariff for power consumers in Karachi.

He also directed immediate release of funds for Hyderabad University.
