GHOTKI: A case has been registered in connection with the murder of TikToker Sumeera Rajput in Ghotki, police said on Saturday. According to officials, the First Information Report (FIR) was filed on the complaint of the victim’s daughter, Zubani Kausar. Two men namely Imran and Ali Raza Rajput have been nominated as suspects in the case, police added. Both nominated individuals have been taken into custody by the A-Section Police, said Station House Officer (SHO) Qabil Bheo.
“We are investigating the murder from multiple angles,” the SHO informed, adding that further details would be shared once preliminary findings are complete. Sumeera Rajput was a local TikTok content creator whose death has raised concerns over the safety of women on digital platforms in nonurban Sindh.
Earlier in June, another TikToker, 17-year-old Sana Yousaf, was shot dead at her home in Islamabad. A case was registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (premeditated murder) at the Sumbal Police Station, based on a complaint filed by her mother, Farzana Yousaf. According to police, the main suspect, Umar Hayat, confessed to killing Sana after she refused to meet him and ignored a birthday gift he had brought. His statement was recorded before a judicial magistrate.
