ISLAMABAD: As Murree experiences intermittent rainfall, hailstorms, and the season’s first snowfall in 2023, the Traffic Police have issued a critical advisory for tourists. This comes in the wake of the 2021 Murree tragedy that saw the deaths of many tourists who got stranded on the road amid heavy snowy weather.
Tourists planning to visit the scenic hill station, adjacent Khyber Pukhtunkhwa’s Galiyat region with Nathia Gali as its crown jewel, are urged to prepare for a fluctuating Murree temperature today. The advisory seems to have been made with a 15 days forecast in mind. It stresses on having a full tank of fuel in vehicles at all times to ensure uninterrupted travel through these demanding weather conditions.
What will be Murree’s weather be like in next 10 days?
In light of the further expected snowfall in Murree 2023, the Traffic Police spokesperson highlighted the need for heightened caution. This is especially pertinent given the brisk winds that could affect road conditions. Similar weather forecast is being observed for Nathia Gali and surroundings.
The advisory emphasizes disciplined driving, especially keeping in mind that hotels during high tourist influx are full leaving very less space for parking besides the road.
The weather in Murree now might have cleared up for a while but it takes a very short time from enjoying the vistas from the best hotels that you might choose for yourself, to heavy snow right after you leave to visit tourist locations like Kashmir Point, GPO Murree, Mall Road etc.
