Murree’s Mall Road turns into a battlefield of sticks and stones

MURREE: Chinar Chowk on Mall Road transformed into a battlefield on Sunday as a violent altercation broke out, with free use of sticks and chaos reigning supreme.

The conflict erupted over a traffic block, escalating rapidly and leaving many people injured on both sides. Eyewitnesses report that the situation spiralled out of control when a group of tourists assaulted a local taxi driver. This initial skirmish quickly snowballed into a full-blown brawl.

Despite the escalating violence, the Tourist Force, Civil Defence, Punjab Police, and Traffic Police were notably absent from the scene, leaving the situation unchecked. The absence of law enforcement allowed the confrontation to continue unabated, with shouts and clashes echoing across Mall Road.

Local authorities have yet to comment on the incident or the conspicuous lack of police presence.
