KARACHI: Kamran Qureshi, the father of Armaghan Qureshi the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, has been arrested.
According to the police, they have claimed to arrest Kamran Asghar Qureshi in a narcotics case.
The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) police conducted an operation and arrested Kamran Qureshi, who was involved in drug trafficking and is the father of the main suspect, Armaghan.
SSP AVCC Aneel Haider Minhas stated that Kamran was apprehended from a bungalow located in Defence Phase 5, Khayaban-e-Momin.
Authorities have been instructed to investigate the activities of Armaghan’s close associates and review his father , Kamran Qureshi’s, criminal history. Additionally, the probe will examine potential links between the accused and crimes such as terror financing, money laundering, and other illegal activities.

Police have been directed to collect intelligence from Gulzar and Darakhshan police stations regarding Armaghan’s alleged ties with banned organisations. Intelligence agencies have also been asked to assist in verifying these claims.
Mustafa Amir disappeared on January 6, and his mother reported him missing the next day. The case took a new turn when a ransom call was received on January 25.
A raid on February 9 resulted in a violent standoff, leading to the arrest of the prime suspect, Armaghan, who later withdrew his statement about disposing of the body in Malir.
Further investigation uncovered that Armaghan, along with his accomplice Shiraz, killed Mustafa after a dispute over a girl and burned his body along with a car in Balochistan’s Hub area.
