MWM protest: Karachi traffic police working to address traffic chaos

KARACHI: The Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) protest sit-ins at various locations in Karachi, since Thursday night, following the Parachinar incident, have caused traffic chaos, inconveniencing citizens.”
The MWM is holding the protest in response to the recent killings, closure of roads in Parachinar, and the government’s failure to address the concerns of the victims’ families.
The central sit-in is being held at the Numaish Roundabout, with additional sit-ins Sit-ins are ongoing at Abul Hasan Isfahani Road, Abbasi Town, University Road, Samama Shopping Center, and North Nazimabad Five Star Chowrangi.
Protests are also ongoing on the National Highway Malir 15 Bridge, Nhamsi Chowrangi, and the routes leading from Shahra-e-Faisal Chotra Gate to Quaidabad.
The protest has led to a traffic mess in the city and the residents are finding it difficult to move around.

According to the traffic police, only the main Shahra-e-Faisal has been opened for traffic towards Kala Chapra.
Alternative routes are being arranged at the affected places, and the citizens are requested to take service roads and other alternative routes to avoid any trouble, the traffic police has said.
The police and other agencies are also actively working to restore the flow of traffic.
The traffic police have appealed to the citizens to assess the situation before travelling and follow the instructions of the traffic police.
