NAB sets date for auctioning of Malik Riaz’s properties

Nab auctions Malik Riaz's property

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has set August 7, 2025, as the date for auctioning several properties belonging to Bahria Town owner Malik Riaz.

According to a late night tweet from state broadcaster PTV‘s X account NAB had set a date for the auction of Malik Riaz’s properties. It said the auction would take place at the NAB Rawalpindi Office, Sector G-6/1, Islamabad.

List of properties to be auctioned

Among the properties listed for auction is the Bahria Town Corporate Office II, situated at Plot No. 7-D on Park Road in Phase II of Bahria Town, Rawalpindi. Another corporate office, located at Plot No. 7-E on the same road and phase, is also part of the auction. The list further includes Rubeish Marquee and Lawn, positioned in Bahria Garden City near the Garden City Golf Course in Islamabad. NAB also announced that the Arena Cinema, located on Plot No. 984-Broad-A in Phase IV of Bahria Town, Rawalpindi, will be auctioned.

Additionally, Bahria Town International Academy, a school building near Jasmine Street and Silver Oaks Road in Safari Villas I, Rawalpindi, is also up for sale. Plot No. 27, which houses the Safari Club in the Safari Villas Phase of Bahria Town, Rawalpindi, is another property to be auctioned.

It merits mentioning that earlier on Monday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had reserved its judgment on petitions challenging the planned auction of Bahria Town properties.

These properties were seized as part of a plea bargain deal linked to the £190 million case famously known as Al-Qadir Trust case.

£190 million Case: Passports of four including Malik Riaz, Farah Gogi blocked

Earlier this year, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issued a public notice announcing the auction of six Bahria Town properties in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The move came after Bahria Town chairman Malik Riaz and his son Ali failed to pay the agreed amount under the plea bargain settlement.

However, the IHC had issued a stay on the auction process. Last month, NAB requested the court to lift the stay order.
