NADRA says no instructions issued on international travel

NADRA

ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has refuted press reports that it has made polio drops mandatory for international travel.

Rebutting recent media reports claiming that the NADRA has issued new restrictions for international travel, it clarified that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has made it mandatory for airlines to check for polio vaccinations for passengers traveling abroad, not NADRA.

The NADRA specified that it is only authorised to issue polio vaccination certificates and holds no jurisdiction on immigration-related matters.

The federal body took to Twitter to share the relevant notification issued by the CAA in this regard.

The notification advises passengers to take polio vaccination drops at least four weeks before departure and directs airlines to inform passengers of the same at the time of ticket issuance.

Passengers are further advised to obtain their polio vaccination certificates from their relevant District Health Office as the polio counter at the airport cannot facilitate all persons for such requests made at the last minute.
