ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has decided to shut down its website Pak ID from tomorrow (January 17) and launch a mobile app to control fraud incidents.
In a statement, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that NADRA’s Pak ID website will be closed, and all services will now be provided through the mobile app.
Fraudsters had been using fake websites to assist in obtaining identification documents, often misusing citizens’ personal information for illegal purposes. NADRA’s website will be taken down on January 17.
The Interior Minister further said that citizens, especially overseas Pakistanis, faced difficulties using the website. Scanning and uploading fingerprints and required documents was a challenging process. The Interior and Foreign Ministries have taken strict notice of these fraudulent activities. NADRA, in collaboration with other institutions, is ensuring action against such elements.

The minister also shared that NADRA’s mobile app has been significantly improved. Services such as ID cards, NICOP, POC, B-forms, and FRC are now available on the app. Citizens can complete all identification document processes from the comfort of their homes using the mobile app.
According to Mohsin Naqvi, NADRA will also establish three new regional centers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan. These centers will become operational by March 31. The new regional offices will improve communication between NADRA officials and citizens, enhancing service delivery in remote areas. This will help resolve citizen issues swiftly and address complaints promptly.
The minister further added that only 19 tehsils in the country still lack NADRA offices. Work is underway to address this, and by March 31, NADRA offices in these tehsils will also be operational.
