NDMA report says 271 deaths caused by monsoon rains since June 26

ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released the latest report on the death and destruction caused by the ongoing monsoon rains across Pakistan. The report said that 271 people have been confirmed dead in various rain-related incidents since June 26.
The NDMA also said that 22 people were injured in incidents over the past 24 hours alone, while the total number of injured nationwide since the onset of the monsoon season has reached 655.
In the last 24 hours, six people have lost their lives due to rain and flood-related incidents. The breakdown includes two fatalities reported from Punjab and four from Balochistan.
The NDMA said that the primary causes of deaths and injuries include flash floods, roof collapses, and homes being submerged under rising water levels.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant, especially in areas prone to flooding, as monsoon activity continues across the country. Relief and rescue operations are ongoing in the affected regions.
