NDMA warns of three heatwaves in coming days

LAHORE: There is a risk of three heatwaves in different cities of Sindh and Punjab during the next 25 days, according to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
According to NDMA, the risk of first heatwave is in Sindh’s cities of Umarkot, Tharparkar, Tindwalayar, Matiari and Sanghar and Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan in Punjab.
The NDMA said that during May 15 to 30, the temperature in these areas may reach 40 degrees and the heat may be felt even higher while this first spell of heat wave may last for two to three days.
KDA warns tourists to avoid travelling to Naran
According to NDMA, a second heat wave is expected in late May or early June in which the temperature may go up to 45 degrees and will last for four to five days.
The third heat wave is expected during the first 10 days of June, which will affect Tharparkar, Umarkot, Sanghar, Badin and Khairpur.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy weather conditions with rain-windstorm/thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, north/central Balochistan and Kashmir during afternoon/evening.

Islamabad 22 degrees centigrade, Lahore 30, Karachi 29, Peshawar 24, Quetta 18, Gilgit 15, Murree 17 and Muzaffarabad 20 degrees centigrade.
