LAHORE: With the deadline for the repatriation of illegal immigrants expiring on October 31, the Punjab caretaker government has finalised all essential arrangements for the process.
In an official statement issued on Tuesday, Punjab’s Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Mohsin Naqvi declared that all requisite measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth return of individuals illegally residing within the province.
The CM further said that the chief secretary and inspector general (IG) have been given explicit instructions to enforce the directive.
The caretaker chief minister sternly warned of consequences for those providing refuge to illegal residents, affirming a zero-tolerance policy in this regard.
Naqvi reiterated the call for illegal residents to voluntarily leave the country, cautioning that the government has finalized arrangements for their repatriation, which will commence on November 1.
