power consumption growth decline

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani electricity consumers, already grappling with inflation, are set to face an additional burden as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a tariff hike of Rs4.92 per unit for a duration of one month.

This adjustment comes in the context of the February fuel adjustment. Consumers will see additional charges reflected in their April electricity bills.

It’s important to note that this increase will not apply to lifeline consumers and K-Electric consumers.

NEPRA’s move aims to address the rising costs associated with power generation and distribution.

While the adjustment may impact household budgets, it reflects the ongoing challenges faced by the energy sector in Pakistan.

As consumers brace for higher bills, policymakers continue to grapple with balancing affordability and sustainability in the country’s energy landscape.
