LAHROE: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) claimed to have busted a network allegedly involved in smuggling heroin to India.

The revelation comes days after the ANF discovered a crashed drone along with a cache of heroin near the border region.

According to Urdu News, the ANF, which is responsible for combating drug trafficking, has registered an FIR (First Information Report) regarding the incident, mentioning the involvement of a network engaged in smuggling heroin to India.

According to the FIR, the group in question has received technical support for their operations from across the border.

The FIR has also mentioned the name of police official Sharafat, currently stationed at the Lahore Deputy Commissioner’s office, who is alleged to have played a role in facilitating the smuggling.

The ANF has also nominated several suspects in the FIR, including Abdul Razzaq, Jaida, Mustafa, and Ajaz Dial.

The ANF’s initial investigations indicated that a month ago, a tip-off was received through an informant that a massive heroin smuggling operation was taking place at the residence of Abdul Razzaq. After several days of surveillance, a major lead was detected and a raid was carried out. However, all suspects escaped, but a drone and two vehicles containing a total of five kilograms of heroin were seized.

The ANF is conducting raids in an attempt to apprehend the suspects, but no arrests have been made thus far.

On July 7, a drone crash was reported near the Huloki area, close to Lahore’s Rang Road. Following the incident, the police and ANF teams reached the scene, discovering a stash of narcotics attached to the crashed drone.

Eyewitnesses stated that the drone had fallen into farmlands, not far from the Indian border.

The ANF has claimed that it has identified the entire network involved in cross-border heroin smuggling and is currently conducting raids to apprehend the culprits.

India has previously accused Pakistan of being a source of heroin smuggling into their country. However, the ANF’s FIR contradicts these claims and alleges that this network has connections in India.
