New monsoon spell across Pakistan to start from September 2

ISLAMABAD: A new monsoon rain system will commence on September 2 and continue until September 5, according to a notification issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Saturday.

The NDMA advisory warns of potential flooding and urban flooding in low-lying areas. Moderate rain is anticipated in northeastern Punjab, with showers expected in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala. Rain is also likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Malakand, Hazara Division, and Peshawar.

The advisory further indicates a possibility of rain in the Qalat Division, Quetta, Pishin, as well as the Kirthar and Sulaiman mountain ranges. Light to moderate rain is forecasted for northern Sindh.
