LAHORE: The spiritual fervor is palpable in Raiwind as the city prepares for the annual Tablighi Ijtema, a significant Islamic congregation drawing participants from across the globe.

The event, split into two phases – the first from November 2nd to 5th and the second from November 9th to 12th – is expected to attract over a million faithful.

Awami Muslim League leader Sh Rashid has also announced that he will be attending the Ijtema to gain spiritual cleansing.

Authorities have meticulously planned to accommodate the massive influx of attendees.

The Lahore Traffic Police, under the guidance of Chief Traffic Officer Mustansar Feroz, have deployed a robust force including 13 DSPs, 203 Traffic inspectors, 110 patrolling officers, and 999 traffic wardens to manage the vehicular flow.

Special arrangements include the establishment of seven designated parking stands to prevent haphazard parking and ensure smooth traffic. A comprehensive traffic plan redirects vehicles coming from GT Road and Okara towards Raiwind, with specific routes like Khawaja Road and Sundar Road reserved for emergency vehicles.

The city’s traffic management is also leveraging technology, urging citizens to use the Rasta FM and Rasta app for real-time updates. A special control room and camp office have been set up for continuous monitoring.

The spiritual gathering, which emphasizes prayer and reflection, is not just a religious milestone but also a logistical marvel, showcasing the city’s capacity to host events of such scale while maintaining order and security.

As the first phase commences, the city’s infrastructure is put to the test, with the second phase anticipated to follow suit in seamless execution. The Raiwind Tablighi Ijtema stands as a testament to the collective spirit of peace, faith, and communal harmony.
