ISLAMABAD: Security forces eliminated nine Khawarij – the terrorists backed by India – in the latest operations in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, the ISPR say.
According to the ISPR (Inter Services Public Relations), the terrorists were targeted in three separate intelligence-based operations in Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and Khyber.
In Dera Ismail Khan, the forces killed four of these Khawarij.
Also in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the gunfight between the security forces and the Khawarij resulted in the death of two terrorists.
On the other hand, the remaining two eliminated as the forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Bagh area of Khyber.
The ISPR said they had recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from the possession of the dead terrorists.
At the same time, the military’s media wing reaffirmed the security forces commitment to root out terrorism from the country.
UNWAVERING DETERMINATION
In his reaction to the latest developments, President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces for bravery and swift action.
Zardari – who is the military’s commander-in-chief – welcomed the killing of Indian proxies and said the security forces would continue their operations until completely removing terrorism from Pakistan.
Similarly, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif promised to get rid of all the Indian-backed terrorists who are targeting the innocent citizens in Pakistan.
The security forces and law enforcement agencies have intensified their efforts to target the terrorists – both Fitna al-Khwarij and Fitna al-Hindustan (the groups operating in Balochistan – in recent weeks.
Last week, the security forces had eliminated nine of them in Lakki Marwat, Bannu and North Waziristan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The same day also saw the killing of three members of Indian-backed terrorist outfits in Turbat (Kech) and Awaran districts of Balochistan.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has witnessed an alarming rise in terrorist activities after the Imran Khan-led government decided to relocate the Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP) members and families.
Hence, both the current political and military leadership have repeatedly pointed out this fact.
Meanwhile, southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the worst-affected region in the province.
At the same time, Shehbaz also promised to foil India’s designs to disrupt law and order in the country.
