ABBOTTABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that “instead of making someone prime minister for the second or fourth time, give us a chance.”

Addressing a workers’ convention and a public rally in Abbottabad, he said: “instead of appointing a fourth prime minister, give an opportunity to someone who hasn’t had a chance before. Provide us with an opportunity; we won’t let the people down.”

Bilawal said; “Give us a chance, and we will double salaries within five years. The old politics and politicians should step aside. We must address the country’s problems with new politics. The source of power is the people, and only the people have the right to determine their future.”

He said that only the people, through the power of their votes, can elect someone as an MNA or MPA.

“We reject puppet and selected rule. If you want to be a leader, be a leader of the people. The only point of contention with the PTI chairman was that the decision should be made by the people. The root of all of Pakistan’s problems lies in the old political system,” he asserted.

He said that today’s workers’ convention is a resounding success and stands as a historic testament to the enduring bond between the PPP and the people, spanning three generations. He said that the PPP renamed NWFP as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a move reflective of the party’s commitment to recognizing and addressing the aspirations of the people of the province.

Reflecting on Asif Zardari’s tenure, Bilawal pointed out the party’s contribution to acknowledging and addressing the issues faced by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Asserting the party’s commitment to the unfulfilled mission of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, Bilawal expressed pride in the accomplishments of the PPP. He outlined the party’s vision for the future, emphasizing the need for a clear ideology and manifesto to address the country’s challenges.

In a call for a fresh approach to governance, he urged the public to consider the PPP for leadership, emphasizing the need for new political strategies to solve the country’s problems.

Bilawal underscored the power of the people in shaping the country’s destiny, advocating for genuine democracy.

Rejecting the notion of puppet and selected rule, he urged the public to choose leaders through the power of their votes. Bilawal expressed a desire to become the prime minister, emphasizing that decisions should be made by the people, not by the traditional political system.

In conclusion, Bilawal Bhutto presented the PPP as a dynamic force, ready to tackle the nation’s issues with a fresh perspective, promising a departure from the old political system in favor of a people-centric approach.
