No further amendments are needed after 26th Amendment: Azam Tarar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar on Monday spoke about the effectiveness of constitutional benches in expediting court decisions, while defending the institutional reforms brought through the 26th Constitutional Amendment.
The law minister stated that the amendment had served its purpose as a comprehensive reform package, making further constitutional changes unnecessary. “Should the need arise, any new amendment would require consensus among all coalition partners.”
Senate approves 26th constitutional amendment with two-thirds majority
Addressing criticism about current governance, Tarar acknowledged that there have been allegations of laws being violated today, but such phases were not unprecedented: “In the past, prime ministers’ motorcades never appeared before courts but now we see people arriving in luxury vehicles to make political speeches.”
The minister issued a stern warning against attacks on military installations, and stressed government’s commitment to constitutional supremacy, declaring.
