LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to remove male professors and teachers from women’s universities across the province to curb incidents of sexual harassment.
Governor Sardar Saleem Haider announced the decision while speaking to the media, emphasising that it aims to protect female students. He also warned that strict punishments would be enforced against those involved in harassment at educational institutions.
In addition to replacing male staff, the governor revealed plans to revamp the examination system to prevent blackmail and harassment of female students. The new system will include stricter protocols for preparing and checking exam papers.
“All university administrations have been directed to implement these changes,” Governor Haider said. He further announced that performance evaluation forms will be introduced for vice-chancellors and professors, with future rewards and penalties based on these assessments.
