One-day physical remand granted for Shah Mehmood in cipher case


Shah Mehmood Qureshi disqualified for five years by ECP in connection to the Cipher case

ISLAMABAD: A one-day physical remand for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been approved.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials produced Qureshi before the court of Duty Magistrate Ehtisham Alam today, reportedly through the backdoor.

An in-camera hearing was held on the remand of Qureshi, during which the FIA requested for a 14-day physical remand. After this, Duty Magistrate Ehtsham Alam gave a safe decision on the physical remand of Qureshi.

Earlier, Qureshi was arrested by police from his residence in Islamabad for his alleged involvement in the cipher case, before being transferred to FIA headquarters.

Him and former PTI secretary general Asad Umar are implicated for alleged involvement in the same case.
