ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari, in HIS address during the armed forces’ parade ceremony commemorating Pakistan Day, reiterated the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s military to safeguarding the nation.

Marking the historic occasion when the Muslim populace of the subcontinent envisaged a separate homeland, President Zardari lauded their sacrifice and determination. He pledged that the security of Pakistan remains paramount.

In homage to the founding fathers and all who contributed to the birth of Pakistan, Zardari underscored the significance of the democratic government that has been established post-election. Amidst myriad challenges confronting the nation, he expressed confidence in Pakistan’s survival and growth spirit, including its robust defence capabilities.

While acknowledging prevailing challenges such as unemployment and poverty, the President reassured the people that Pakistan stands fortified in its resilience. He said that development will be brought in various fields under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), emphasising collective responsibility in tackling economic issues. He said, “We all have the responsibility to solve all the problems together”.

President Zardari urged political parties to collaborate in addressing national concerns and extended gratitude to allied nations for their unwavering support. Notably, he lauded the assistance provided by China, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia during testing times.
