Over 15 terrorists killed in infiltration attempt into Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces have killed over 15 Khawarij militants and Afghan Taliban fighters while foiling an infiltration attempt into Pakistan.

According to security sources, in the early hours of Saturday, 20-25 Khawarij militants attempted to infiltrate Pakistan from two locations in Kurram and North Waziristan, using Afghan Taliban border posts.

Pakistani security forces successfully thwarted the infiltration attempt through a timely response, sources added.

In the early hours of December 28, the militants once again tried to infiltrate Pakistan, using Afghan Taliban posts as a launch point, sources revealed.

Following the failure of the infiltration attempt, the Khawarij and Afghan Taliban jointly opened fire on Pakistani posts using heavy weapons without provocation, sources reported.

Pakistani security forces responded with full force, providing a strong and effective counterattack, sources confirmed.

According to reliable sources, initial reports indicate significant losses on the Afghan side.

The effective return fire resulted in the death of over 15 Khawarij militants and Afghan Taliban fighters, with many others wounded, sources said.

The heavy retaliation and shelling forced the Afghan Taliban to abandon six posts and retreat, sources added.

Further reports indicate the possibility of escalating losses on the Afghan side, according to sources.
