WEB DESK: On Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the government’s dedication to investing in modern skills and professional education for the youth, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

In his message marking World Youth Skills Day, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of Pakistan’s talented youth, describing them as the nation’s greatest asset. He emphasised the urgent need to equip them with modern skills to secure the country’s future.

Sharif outlined the government’s initiatives aimed at providing the youth with contemporary education, equal development opportunities, and advanced professional training. He stressed the importance of enabling Pakistani youth to compete on a global scale.

A key aspect of the government’s strategy involves sending 300,000 young individuals for vocational training in information technology and 1,000 for advanced agricultural training in China. This initiative prioritises women and young people from remote and underprivileged areas of the country.

The Prime Minister noted that national training programmes in information technology are ongoing, benefiting millions of students both within and outside Pakistan. These programmes are designed to enhance their skills and improve their career prospects.

Furthermore, the government has initiated reforms within the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) to ensure that institutions provide marketable skills and professional training to thousands of young people.

Sharif reiterated the government’s commitment to equipping the youth with modern skills and professional training to promote their development and secure dignified employment across various fields.
