WEB DESK: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, urged the American president Donald Trump to take action in resolving the Kashmir dispute, warning that the conflict remains a nuclear flashpoint between India and Pakistan. In an interview with an American news channel, Sheikh expressed concerns over India’s aggressive posture following Pahalgam attack, stating that any escalation could lead to a dangerous nuclear confrontation. “The Indian government and media are gripped by war hysteria,” he said.
The ambassador referenced recent border skirmishes following the Pahalgam attack and reiterated Pakistan’s offer for an impartial investigation into the incident. “Instead of addressing its own administrative failures, why is India looking outward for blame?” he questioned.

Khan also cautioned against India’s potential water blockade, stating that Pakistan would consider it an act of war. “We cannot afford instability in the region,” he said. “We desire peaceful relations, but our commitment to peace should not be mistaken for weakness.”

Highlighting the risks of regional adventurism, Khan warned that any military misadventure could trigger a nuclear conflict, endangering over 1.5 billion people in South Asia. He called on the international community to move beyond temporary attention and work toward a lasting solution.
Regarding the Pulwama incident, Khan noted that India has yet to provide evidence despite Pakistan’s offer to cooperate in a transparent inquiry. “India’s failure to substantiate its claims speaks volumes,” he said. As a global power, the US bears responsibility in ensuring peace, Khan said, urging sustained diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation.
