DHAKA: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has stressed the need to strengthen the deep-rooted cultural, spiritual, and familial ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, calling for a renewed spirit of cooperation between the two nations.
During his official visit to Dhaka, the foreign minister highlighted centuries of shared traditions and Islamic heritage, saying Pakistan recognizes and respects the sovereign choices of the Bangladeshi nation, and expressed hope for relations defined by unity rather than division.
Emphasizing the importance of people-to-people engagement, Dar noted the positive momentum in recent bilateral exchanges, economic collaboration, and cultural dialogue.
He urged both countries to work together in addressing pressing regional as well as global challenges such as climate change, inequality, and security threats, while also reinvigorating regional cooperation through the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
