ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the recent storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli ministers accompanied by settler groups under the protection of Israeli police, calling the act a grave provocation and a violation of international law.
In a statement issued on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, the prime minister described the incident as a “sacrilege” against one of Islam’s holiest sites, terming it an affront to Muslims worldwide and a direct challenge to the global conscience.
He said such systematic actions by the occupying power, combined with provocative calls for annexation, were undermining the prospects for peace and stability in the region.

“These reckless moves are deliberately inflaming tensions in Palestine and across the Middle East,” the Prime Minister said, warning that they could push the region further toward instability and conflict.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s position on the Palestinian issue and reiterated call for an immediate ceasefire, an end to all acts of aggression, and the revival of a credible peace process.
PM Sharif urged for the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, in line with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. Pakistan has repeatedly called for IDF to leave the Palestinian terriroirites, urging the international organisations to provide relief for the starving communities.
