ISLAMABAD: Addressing the National Assembly session, former foreign minister and member of the standing committee on foreign affairs, Hina Rabbani Khar said that Pakistan has shown immense restraint in the face of regional tensions and provocations. She asserted that Pakistan has dismantled the perception of Indian military superiority, and stressed that Pakistan must not adopt an apologetic posture in its diplomacy: “What we have done now should have been done a long time ago.”
Khar criticised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stance on Kashmir, saying he unilaterally decided that the region is an integral part of India. She also commented on former US President Donald Trump’s remarks, stating that after his statement, “it wasn’t just Rafale jets that fell, but an entire mindset collapsed.”

Drawing a contrast between rhetoric and reality, she said, “Fighting wars in Bollywood is one thing, but fighting actual wars is a different matter altogether.” She accused India of weaponising terrorism and questioned its conduct as a responsible nuclear power, claiming that New Delhi has instead proven itself to be an irresponsible nuclear state.
Khar also acknowledged the role of Donald Trump, saying the former US president had played a constructive role and noted that he had expressed willingness to resolve the Kashmir dispute.
On Monday, Hina Rabbani Khar also appeared on English journalist Piers Morgan show to speak on the incidents between May 7 and May 10 alongside Pakistani YouTuber Shahzad Ghias, Indian journalist Barkha Dutt and Indian YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia also known as Beer Biceps.
