PM Shehbaz praises IMF agreement as a step toward economic stability

WEB DESK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his satisfaction with the staff-level agreement between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
In a statement today, he expressed gratitude to the IMF for its support during challenging times, emphasising that the new loan programme will ensure economic stability for Pakistan.
Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transition the country from stability to a robust and sustainable recovery. He voiced optimism that Pakistan will eventually free itself from debt and achieve economic prosperity.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the tough decisions made to secure economic stability, noting that their positive effects are now becoming evident. He highlighted the government’s focus on strengthening fiscal and monetary policies and broadening the tax base.
Shehbaz Sharif outlined the government’s agenda of economic reforms aimed at fortifying the country’s economic foundation and paving the way for sustainable development and prosperity.
He pointed to the increase in foreign exchange reserves over the past year as evidence of the government’s efforts to stabilise the exchange rate and achieve a sustainable growth rate.
He expressed confidence that the government’s initiatives will lead Pakistan towards economic development and prosperity.
