ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and India have agreed to gradually withdraw troops from the border by May 30, important security sources told HUM Investigation Team.
The sources said that the decision has been taken to reduce the risks of war between the two countries. The troops of both countries have started returning to the international [border] and the line of control (LoC).
Regular talks are under way between the Director General Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two countries to ensure peace, security sources said, adding that active talks will continue between DGMOs to implement the ceasefire. The two countries are also likely to start talks at a neutral venue soon.
In the first phase, the Pakistan Air Force and Aviation will return to their positions prior to the active conflict. In the second phase, all ground forces and naval forces will also return to normal positions. This will be done gradually until May 30.
