LAHORE: Pakistan and India on Wednesday exchanged one prisoner each at the Wagah-Attari border as tensions between the two countries simmer down
According to security sources, Pakistan handed over Border Security Force personnel Purnam Kumar to the Indian authorities. The BSF personnel has been in Pakistani custody since April 23, 2025.
In return, Indian authorities handed over Punjab Rangers personnel Muhammad Ullah to Pakistan.

The exchange took place as part of routine prisoner repatriation efforts aimed at promoting humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
Yesterday, Pakistan expelled the staff member of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad declaring him “persona non grata” over activities that violated diplomatic norms.
