ISLAMABAD: Pakistan initiated a counter offensive, titled “Bunyan Marsoos” in response to recent missile attacks by India on its military airbases, including Nur Khan, Shorkot and Murid.

State broadcaster PTV News reported that the Pakistan military’s retaliation against Indian aggression had begun, with security sources confirming that the operation was currently underway.

The escalation follows a series of missile strikes by India targeting multiple Pakistani airbases. These attacks occurred in the early hours of Saturday, and immediately heightened military readiness.

Operation Bunyan Marsoos: Latest developments

As per reports, all bases from which attacks on the people and mosques of Pakistan were carried out are being targeted. Multiple targets are being targeted in the operation

In the latest developments, Pakistan has destroyed the storage facility for BrahMos missiles located in Beas, from which the Indian military launched its attacks.

Similarly, the Udhampur airbase has been confirmed as “destroyed”, along with the airfield in Pathankot.

Earlier, the Director General (DG) of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry warned India of a strong response following the missile strikes. He assured that all assets of the Pakistan Air Force were safe and that the missiles were intercepted during the initial attacks.

The escalating situation has drawn international attention, with the G7 appealing to both sides for de-escalation.

However, earlier on Friday, in an interview with Fox News, United States Vice President, JD Vance, clearly stated that what was happening between the nuclear-armed Pakistan and India was “none of our business”.

The US Vice President, who is married to an Indian-origin woman and whose parents immigrated to the US, stated that the US could not “control [the two]”.
