Pakistan Railways’ only track maintenance machine breaks down

LAHORE: It has been revealed that the only track maintenance machine of Pakistan Railways has been out of operation for a prolonged period, causing significant disruptions to maintenance work, according to employees.

The machine, valued at tens of millions of rupees, has been non-functional for some time, with workers expressing concern that the lack of timely repairs is worsening its condition.

Employees have criticised the negligence of Rail Corps officers, warning that the department risks losing millions if immediate action is not taken. They are calling on the CEO of Pakistan Railways to take swift notice of the issue.

A spokesperson for Pakistan Railways acknowledged the situation, stating that repair work on the machine is already underway and that it will be fixed as soon as possible to resume essential track maintenance operations.
