WEB DESK: Pakistan Railways has claimed to record revenue of Rs41 billion during the initial half of the financial year 2023–24, surpassing the Rs40 billion milestone.
This significant increase contrasts with the Rs28 billion earned in the corresponding period of the previous year, marking substantial growth in financial performance, according to Aamir Baloch, the Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Railways.
CEO PR attributed this outstanding success to a revenue breakdown of Rs24 billion generated from passenger trains and Rs11.5 billion from freight trains.
Additionally, approximately five and a half billion rupees were contributed by other sectors, as highlighted by the CEO.
Baloch emphasised that this record-breaking revenue was achieved through the judicious and effective utilisation of resources.
Importantly, this financial feat was accomplished without incurring any additional expenses or seeking financial assistance from the government, he affirmed.
According to The News, Baloch also underscored the successful management of salary payments, indicating a controlled approach to addressing any delays.
This achievement not only reflects the financial resilience of Pakistan Railways but also showcases the railways’ commitment to efficient resource management and fiscal responsibility.
