Pakistan test fires Abdali missile system

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan on Saturday conducted a successful test of the Abdali Weapon System, a surface-to-surface missile with a range of 450 kilometers, the military’s media wing ISPR said.

The missile launch was part of Exercise Indus, aimed at evaluating the operational readiness of the troops and checking key technical parameters, including its modern navigation system and maneuverability features, according to ISPR.

The training launch of the Abdali missile was observed by the Commander Strategic Forces Command. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and all service chiefs congratulated the troops on the successful test.

According to ISPR, the test reaffirms Pakistan’s resolve to maintain a credible minimum deterrence.
