ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will take part in the United Nations-hosted discussions on Afghanistan set to occur on June 30 in Doha, as reported by Geo.
Diplomatic sources said that Pakistan will be represented by Asif Durrani, the Special Representative on Afghanistan, and Ahmad Naseem Warraich, the Assistant Secretary for West Asia in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The United Nations announced on Friday that an upcoming rare meeting of global envoys with Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers this month will not address issues related to Afghan civil society and women’s human rights defenders, as reported by Voice of America.

The two-day UN-hosted meeting will begin in Doha, Qatar, on June 30. This will be the third session of what is known as the “Doha process,” and for the first time, the Taliban have agreed to attend.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres initiated and hosted the Doha process in May 2023. The goal is to create a coherent and unified global strategy for engaging with the Taliban government, which has not yet received formal international recognition.
