Pakistan vows to protect territorial integrity, national security

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday shared its security concerns with the diplomatic corps in Islamabad and expressed the resolve to protect territorial integrity and national security amid the latest aggression along the Pak-Afghan border amid the rising acts of terrorism.

The development came as Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch “gave a comprehensive briefing to resident ambassadors in Islamabad on the recent developments along the Pak-Afghan border”.

Also on Sunday, the government decided to deal with the repeated organised disinformation campaigns with an iron hand with a special emphasis on targeting the “troll cells”, sources said, in the aftermath of the recent violent protests organised by Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

The move again shows that the government is determined to tackle the terrorist and extremist forces with out any compromise.

‘UNWAVERING RESOLVE’

In a post shared on social media platform X, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “She underscored Pakistan’s legitimate security concerns” as well as the country’s “unwavering resolve to protect its territorial integrity and national security”.

However, Baloch emphasised that Pakistan stood for peace and stability in the region.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised the briefing just days after the Afghan Taliban with the support of different terrorists groups, they are housing in Afghanistan, carried out attacks at different points along the border, triggering a swift and effective response.

With more than more than 200 Afghan Taliban and other terrorists killed, the Afghan Taliban regime, however, had to rush to seek an immediate ceasefire just like Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi did on the morning of May 10 earlier this year — a request that was denied.

Earlier on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan warned the “Taliban regime” that “any further provocations would be met with an unwavering and befitting response”.

The cowardly Afghan Taliban aggression came at a time when their interim foreign minister — Amir Muttaqi — was in India to strengthen ties with the Hindu nationalist BJP government.
