Pakistan will get cloudy weather today, with sporadic rain

WEB DESK: On Monday, it will be partly cloudy in most parts of the country. However, in the afternoon, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thundershowers at a few places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Central and South Punjab, North-East Balochistan, Upper and South-East Sindh, and Kashmir.

Moreover, wind and heavy rain are expected in South-East Sindh. Thunderstorms may also occur at a few places in the Pothohar region.

Going region by region, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that Islamabad and its surrounding areas will be partly cloudy, with the possibility of rain with wind and thundershowers.

For Punjab, PMD says that most districts of the province will be partly cloudy. However, in the afternoon, rain with gusty winds and thundershowers is expected at a few places in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sahiwal, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Bhakkar, Taunsa, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Kot Addu, DG Khan, Rahim Yar Khan. During this time, moderate to heavy rain is also expected at a few places.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa too will get mostly cloudy skies with chance of rain and thundershowers at isolated places in Waziristan, Bannu, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, Mardan, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber and Kurram.

PMD said that Sindh will also get cloudy skies with chance of rain and thundershowers at isolated places in most districts of the province. However, strong winds and thundershowers at isolated places in Karachi, Sanghar, Umerkot, Matiari, Mithi, Thatta, Sukkur, Ghotgi, Shikarpur, Chhor, Jacobabad, Larkana, Dadu, Mirpur Khas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur and surrounding areas. Heavy rain is also expected at isolated places during this period.

For Balochistan, the met department said that today the weather will likely remain dry in most districts of the province. However, dusty winds and rain with thundershowers are expected in Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Sherani, Loralai, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran and surrounding areas during the evening/night.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, the skies will be cloudy, while in Kashmir cloudy weather with strong winds and rain is predicted. Hail/moderate to heavy rain may also occur at a few places during this period.
