According to authorities, another tragic incident involving illegal migration has unfolded as a boat carrying nearly 39 migrants sank off the Libyan coast while en route to Italy. All on board are feared dead, according to Libyan authorities.
The ill-fated migrant boat departed from the city of Sirte, Libya on April 12 and capsized the following day near the same coastal area, Libyan officials confirmed.
The Libyan Coast Guard recovered 11 bodies during rescue operations. Among the deceased, four have been identified as Pakistani nationals, according to the Pakistani Embassy in Libya.
The embassy stated that three of the Pakistanis belonged to Mandi Bahauddin, while one hailed from Gujranwala.

Diplomatic sources added that they are in contact with Libyan authorities for further details and assistance.
The tragic incident once again highlights the deadly risks faced by migrants attempting to cross the Mediterranean through dangerous and illegal routes.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office has yet to issue an official statement, but efforts are underway to confirm identities and ensure support for the victims’ families.
In a related incident just last month, a boat carrying 80 passengers capsized near the Moroccan coast. Thirteen Pakistanis were confirmed dead, while over 40 were reportedly killed by traffickers onboard. Only 22 individuals survived the ordeal.
Authorities have reiterated their call for citizens to refrain from using illegal migration routes, underscoring the dangers associated with unregulated travel across international waters.
