Pakistan’s ambassador to UAE now appointed for Qatar

ISLAMABAD: Former Corps Commander Gujranwala Lieutenant General (Retd) Muhammad Aamer has been appointed as Pakistan’s new ambassador to Qatar. Earlier this year, in August, he was given the charge of ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
He served as Military Secretary under President Asif Ali Zardari and has also led one of the major offensive formations in the Gujranwala corps. Lt Gen Aamer completed his military service last year, and now he will replace Dr Mohammad Ejaz, who has now been appointed as the ambassador to Belarus.
According to some media reports, Qatar has sent an agreement approving the appointment of Lt Gen Aamer.
Other recent appointments include, Marghub Saleem Butt’s appointed as ambassador to Switzerland. Ambassador Imran Chaudhry, returning from Oman, will be replaced by Naveed Bokhari as well, media reports said.
