ISLAMABAD: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director-General Lt-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Pakistan’s armed forces fulfilled the promise made to the people of Pakistan
Addressing a press conference along with Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy officials, he said Pakistan carried out Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos in response to Indian aggression. He said that the armed forces gave a befitting reply to the enemy.
He said “Our deepest sympathies lie with the families of the martyrs. Innocent civilians, including women and children, were martyred due to Indian aggression.”
He said that the proud people of Pakistan stood with the Pakistan Armed Forces.
“We are also grateful to all political parties for supporting the defence of the motherland.
The youth of Pakistan played the role of frontline soldiers. The enemy was damaged in Suratgarh, Sirsa, Bernala, Srinagar, and Awantipora.”
The DG ISPR said that 26 military targets were struck inside India, including in Ambala and Pathankot, where India also suffered losses.
He said that India’s S-400 battery systems were successfully targeted at several locations.
These strikes began in the night between May 6 and 7.
Lt-Gen Sharif said that “Allah has commanded the believers to respond when they are subjected to oppression. He placed us at a decisive stage in our actions. We are grateful to the Armed Forces of Pakistan, the entire nation — especially the youth — for their courage and spirit. We also thank Pakistan’s vibrant and brave media.”
He said, “We are grateful to the entire political leadership of Pakistan, which set an excellent example by standing with the armed forces. Pakistan’s response was exemplary, marked by full coordination among the three branches of the military. Indian installations used to target Pakistanis were struck. BrahMos missile stockpiles that had been used against Pakistanis were also targeted.”

Across the Line of Control, he said, all artillery that had been firing on civilians was destroyed—so much so that they raised white flags. Pakistan’s armed forces also launched cyberattacks, and several capabilities have been reserved for the future.”
“We want to make it clear that while Pakistan’s armed forces were engaged on the eastern border, Indian-backed terrorist organisations were active in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Operation Bunyan-un-Mansoos was an example where all of Pakistan’s forces stood united for the defence of the motherland.
The Pakistan Armed Forces salute the nation for its courage, determination, and patriotism. They were making their plans, but Allah was planning as well — and Allah is the best of planners.”
According to the DG ISPR, India’s logistics and support centres such as the field supply depot in Uri and a radar system in Poonch were also hit. He said that command installations of the 10th and 80th Brigades at KG Top and Nowshera—used for unprovoked shelling on innocent civilians—were destroyed.
“Military intelligence units and field elements based in Rajouri and Nowshera that supported proxy groups involved in terrorism in Pakistan were also eliminated. All artillery, logistics, and posts located across the Line of Control that had been firing on civilians in Azad Jammu and Kashmir were subjected to sustained and intense counterattacks — so much so that white flags were eventually raised,” he said.
Lt-Gen Sharif said that Pakistan carried out all strikes with extreme precision to avoid civilian casualties.
The spokesperson added that India violated Pakistani airspace using drones.
The DG ISPR showed clips from international and Indian media covering Pakistan’s strikes and said the whole world witnessed and reported on it. “This is what we had promised — and we delivered,” he said.
He then played a video clip featuring officials from India’s Ministry of Defence detailing the Pakistani military’s strikes, and reiterated that Pakistan had targeted only Indian military objectives.
“Everyone saw who talked about backing down,” he said.
He said international and Indian media clearly reported that only military targets were hit inside India.
‘We had told you that we do not target civilians. Our religion, our culture, and the professionalism of our armed forces do not allow us to harm civilians,’ he said.
The military spokesperson added: ‘And then you saw for yourself who was the one to talk about backing down.’”
Answering a qeuestion, Lt-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that no Indian pilot was in Pakistan’s custody. He said that India requested for the ceasefire after Pakistan retaliated following the Indian aggression.
Addressing the press conference, Vice Admiral Rab Nawaz said that “By the grace of Allah, we succeeded in defending Pakistan from the maritime front.”
He said that “We were fully prepared for any aggression from the sea, and we continuously monitored the maritime boundaries round the clock.”
Vice Admiral Rab Nawaz, while detailing the Navy’s operations as part of Operation Bunyan-unMarsoos, said that by the grace and blessings of Allah Almighty, Pakistan successfully defended its maritime front and kept the enemy—despite its numerical advantage—at bay.
He added that the Navy is always in a state of readiness, and transitioning from peace to a war posture is never an issue.
“Just hours after the false flag operation in occupied Kashmir, our Navy was on full war footing and fully prepared to respond decisively to any aggression at sea,” he said.
He stated that all maritime activities were under constant surveillance, including the Indian aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, which was being closely monitored. The Navy maintained continuous coordination with the Pakistan Air Force.
He further added that Indian aerial activities were also being closely tracked, and Pakistan Navy remained fully alert to protect the country’s coastline and ports.
“The Navy ensured the continuity of maritime trade, and our ports remained open and fully operational throughout the situation,” he said.
Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed said that the Pakistan Air Force will ensure the protection of Pakistan’s airspace at all costs.
He said that “Indian aircraft were shot down after violating the Line of Control, and our civilians were targeted through drones.”
