A statement released by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that March 23, 1940 is a defining moment in our history, “a day that transformed our collective vision into reality.” The statement said that March 23, 1940 paved the way for the establishment of an independent homeland.
Strong on the foundation of faith, hope and perseverance, this day symbolises the resolve of the Pakistani nation. “By the grace of Allah Almighty, the nation is marching forward on the path of progress under the banner of democracy and upholding the eternal principles of Islam,” the ISPR said, adding, “Pakistan is steadfast in strengthening its democratic institutions and ensuring the well-being of its citizens”.
The statement said that Pakistan’s armed forces, ever vigilant and steadfast, “renew their commitment to safeguarding the sacred borders and ensuring the sovereignty of the beloved homeland. Today, Pakistan is a responsible and steadfast member of the international community. Pakistan aspires for global peace, stability and cooperation. As a united nation, Pakistan is moving forward with unwavering determination for hope and lasting prosperity.”

“We will maintain and defend the peace that reflects our national character. It will be ensured that Pakistan remains a shining beacon of harmony in the world. Pakistan and peace are synonymous, we will maintain and protect peace at all costs, God willing,” the statement said.
