Parliament adopts resolutions condemning Israel’s attack on Iran

ISLAMABAD: Both houses of the parliament, the National Assembly and Senate of Pakistan, on Friday unanimously passed resolutions condemning Israel’s attack on Iran.
The National Assembly session, chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, began with Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry moving a motion to suspend routine business and budget debate to discuss the situation in Iran. The motion was approved by the House.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq strongly condemned the Israeli aggression, calling it unacceptable.
PPP lawmaker Syed Naveed Qamar presented the draft resolution, supported by PTI MNA Malik Aamir Dogar and Opposition Leader Omar Ayub. The resolution was unanimously passed by the lower house.
According to the resolution, the Pakistani Parliament strongly condemns Israel’s unprovoked attack on Iran, terming it a violation of Iranian sovereignty. The Parliament declared its full support for the people and government of Iran and condemned the killing of Iranian scientists and military commanders.
PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan said the Muslim world must wake up. He demanded an urgent meeting of the OIC and Arab League.

SENATE RESOLUTION
Meanwhile, the Senate of Pakistan also unanimously passed a resolution condemning Israel’s attack on Iran.
Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar gave a policy statement in the Upper House, terming the attack a clear violation of international law. He then tabled the resolution, which the House adopted unanimously.
The resolution said Israel’s morning attack on Iran violated global principles and endangered peace across the region. It described Israel as a “killer of Muslims” and strongly condemned the attack on Iran, Palestine, and the wider Muslim world. The Senate also expressed support for Iran’s right to retaliate.
The resolution said the Israeli strike was a war crime and a violation of UN principles. It recalled Israel’s decades-long involvement in the killing of innocent Muslims in Palestine and elsewhere. It reaffirmed that the Muslim Ummah and the world had witnessed the massacre of innocent children and civilians in Gaza.
The Senate expressed full support for Iran’s response to the aggression.
The session was adjourned till 3 pm Monday.
