ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a flood warning for the upper regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) along the Kabul River, anticipating heavy rains that could lead to flooding from April 27 to 30.

The NDMA has alerted relevant agencies, including the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), to prepare for potential impacts in Nowshera and Charsadda districts.

Agencies have been directed to identify areas at risk and take timely actions to mitigate the effects of the expected floods.

They have also been tasked with ensuring the availability of necessary machinery and personnel and to raise public awareness in vulnerable areas.

The NDMA has advised residents in the affected regions to refrain from crossing waterways and maintain communication with local authorities.

The public had been urged to stay informed about the weather conditions, and those in low-lying areas should exercise caution due to the potential rise in water levels in streams and rivers.
